Spring Refresh!

‘Tis the season. It’s Spring, and we are getting all the usual signs: April showers, so many May flowers (along with a lot of Gray May), and soon we’ll get SoCal’s famous June Gloom. All the rain and cool weather has made our yard incredibly GREEN! I just love it! I’m so motivated to take a deep dive into a serious Spring Refresh!

Our outdoor space is conducting its own little super bloom, inspiring me to spend some time clearing out overgrown shrubs and pruning back out-of-control trees. Once it starts looking clean, I want to add a few things like maybe a window box of overflowing blooms or a new arrangement of greenery for the front porch. Shutters on the windows, anyone?? New cushions for the backyard furniture have already arrived!

The house is seeing some changes inside, as well. After 31 years with the home’s original heating and air conditioning system, we decided it was time to upgrade to a new energy efficient one, complete with leak-free ductwork! We are looking forward to sleeping comfortably through those hot August nights this summer!

And in the kitchen (our beautiful newly painted kitchen) the motor of our dishwasher died. We replaced it with a new energy efficient one that came with a rebate from Anaheim Utilities. Applying for the rebate alerted me to several ways to save money and energy on a daily basis.

I learned the new HVAC system may be eligible for up to three different rebates and will draw 3 times less energy than the old one! I also learned that we could elect to use more sustainable energy from the city, even though we do not have solar panels. Also, the utility company would be happy to come out and take a look at our energy usage and give us tips on how to use less.

I’ve really enjoyed implementing household improvements in my home that sellers often make before listing their home for sale. I have no plans to leave at this time, I’ll just enjoy all the benefits from the updates we’ve made, and the house will be ready for new owners when I am ready to move on.

If you are thinking about a great Spring Refresher for your home or are looking to list, come visit me over at FirstHomeEd.com and let’s chat.

So many good things to come,

Diana
